Just be

“The eyes of others our prisons; their thoughts our cages.” Virginia Woolf

To celebrate International Women’s day, Metropolis Contemporary, organises a month-long exhibition and events’ programme.

Amplifying the voices of women artists and performers, the gallery becomes a safe space for all who identify as women to express themselves and support each other.

The exhibition “Just Be” co-curated by artist Daisy Potter reflects on the necessity to spend time in only women spaces where the pressure of fulfilling men’s expectation is relieved and women are allowed to fully be themselves.

The exhibition presents works of the artists: Daisy Potter, Siu Man Wu, Seren Sarapcioglu, Naledi Modupi and Kirsty Thomas

A part of the profits will be donated to the charity Refuge that  provides specialist support to women and children escaping domestic violence and other forms of abuse.

The Exhibition will run from 5 march to until 1 April.
