As a queer choreographer and performer, I make multidisciplinary autobiographical work which falls under the grouping of ‘performance art.’ My approach to addressing subject matter opens up conversations and explores queer and taboo subject matter which questions social norms to diverse audiences. My interests lie within gender, eroticism, behavioural tendencies, life and death from a queer point of view. My practice is rooted in the investigation of the internal and the external. Through a ‘new movement’ dance-inspired practice I investigate myself as a subject through embodiment, connecting to deeply internal emotions. My objective as an artist is to be a viable conduit and for an audience to engage with this so that they gain insight into profound explorations of being human. My choreographic intention to date has been to dance my deepest darkness and for an audience to engage with this so that they gain insight into how I as a queer artist have come to be.
